Splatterfest 2011
September 27th -October 1st
Get into the Halloween spirit early with Splatterfest! Splatterfest is a five day film festival that begins on Tuesday, September 27th and lasts throughout Saturday, October 1st. It is held at the West Oaks Alamo Draft House.
Tuesday and Wednesday are the nights of short films. Splatterfest held its 2nd annual short film competition a couple of weekends ago. Filmmakers were given 54 hours to write, film, edit, and turn in a short film. We are very excited about THIS part of Splatterfest... because we entered the competition! Hopefully, we will make Huntsville proud with our movie. That, or horrified. We will be happy with any sort of reaction besides bored. =)
On Thursday night, they will be showing the world premier of Cherry Bomb as well as the world premier of Humans vs. Zombies. Expect some of the filmakers/actors to be there.
Friday is Michael Beihn Night! Remember Kyle Reese? The man who was sent back in time by his own son to protect Sarah Connor and also get her pregnant--with the son who sent him back in time at the beginning of the film--before dying a very sad death? Michael Beihn, most recognized for his roles in Terminator, The Abyss, and Aliens (and obviously a James Cameron favorite), will be there that Friday to promote his two latest movies. The first film is The Victim, which is Michael Beihn's directoral debut. He also wrote and stars in the film. The second film is the world premier of Jacob, which also stars Michael Beihn.
Saturday, is probably the night that most horror fans are looking forward to attending. Bruce Campbell, most famous for his role as Ashley 'Ash' J. Williams from the Evil Dead movies, will be there signing autographs (for a price of course)! They will also be showing all three Evil Dead movies!
If you are interested in any or all of these nights, then get your tickets pronto! VIP and individual night tickets are still available, but they are also selling out fast. Click HERE to purchase tickets.
